Passion/Bliss by Coma Beach is an intense and surreal farewell EP

Writer: Harsha ParakhHarsha Parakh
The third and final EP to their The Scapegoat Agony trilogy by Coma Beach is Passion/ Bliss. This last EP celebrates the 30-year-long album. It consists of five songs, Passion and Bliss. The songs are a combination of genres of punk and alternative rock. The band has once again created music that is powerful, thought-provoking, and strong, giving the listeners a whole new musical experience. The songs in this EP are both full of chaos and yet they manage to be mesmerizing. They convey raw feelings and emotions, talking about the themes of loneliness, pain, and a fear of existence.

A Band having roots in meaningful chaos

All our readers from Würzburg, Germany, must be well aware of Coma Beach and the banger music they create. The band consists of five artists. They are the lead vocalist B. Kafka, Captain A. Fear, who plays the guitar; M. Lecter, who sits on the drums; U. Terror, who takes care of the bass; and M. Blunt, behind the rhythm guitars. Together, they make this band that is known for creating heavy—strong music. They draw inspiration from the OGs of the industry, like Sex Pistols, Ramones, The Cure, and Joy Division. The kind of music they create is a mixture of anger and reflection. The lyrics are heavily influenced by philosophy and literature.

A Journey of Passion and Bliss

The first song of the EP is Passion. Passion talks about the unknown antihero of The Scapegoat’s Agony, who is struggling with understanding his feelings. The track is full of heavy energy, rough guitar tunes, and strong drums. This music leads the listeners to believe that there is some kind of urgency, which fits well with the desperation the character is facing in the search for his emotions. It’s a short track but quite impactful.

“Passion/Bliss by Coma Beach is philosophical music talking about anger and self-reflection.”

If you think Passion was dark, you are in for a surprise. Bliss is much darker. The antihero from the first track is now in complete loss of his reality and is seeing images of a world that is an endless loop of devastation. The creepy tunes and the haunting instruments make the listeners feel the pain of his broken head. This track gives a much-deserved ending to this musical journey, divided into three parts.

Perfect Farewell

Passion/Bliss, the EP, is the perfect example of how music is more than just music. It shows that punk rock can be more than mere outrage but an art, a theory, and unfiltered emotions at the same time. The EP is fierce and does not compromise at all in giving the parent album The Scapegoat's Agony the ultimate farewell.

Concluding, Passion/Bliss is a crazy and thought-provoking creation of Coma Beach, solidifying their position in the music world. Give a try to this philosophical punk and become a part of their musical journey.
