LOVE SONG "AND I LOVE HER" BY THE BEATLES

Writer: Project TimbreProject Timbre
Paul McCartney wrote and sang it nearly entirely. The song best exemplifies McCartney's talent for what reviewers call a "haunt count" In other words, it's an almost unparalleled capacity for creating beautiful, evocative music.

Together, the Beatles were in the studio for little over seven years. They put out thirteen albums and a handful of singles between October 1962 and May 1970. More than ever before, the brief period's library has proven to be commercially successful.

The Beatles' "And I Love Her" was a standout among their many beautiful love ballads. It's one of the best tracks from the movie's soundtrack, "A Hard Day's Night." The tune did had a Mediterranean flavor to it. The mostly acoustic arrangement, samba-like rhythms, and bongos and claves (instead of standard rock drums) all contribute to this sense of laid-back cool. The arrangement itself was a sign that the Beatles were moving away from a certain style of music production. When creating songs for their albums, the Beatles started to experiment with new forms of arrangement and production. In "And I Love Her," they were willing to take a risk with the song's structure by shifting to a higher key for the guitar solo.

"And I Love Her is all about unparalleled magnificence and grace."

At the conclusion of the song, the primary guitar riff played a commanding major chord that wasn't present anywhere else in the song's minor key composition. They didn't release "And I Love Her" as a single in Britain, but after the success of the "A Hard Day's Night" single, they decided to release it as a 45 in America, where it went quite well and almost missed the Top Ten. As a love ballad, it also drew more popular cover versions, such as the one by soul-pop singer Esther Phillips, than many of Lennon-McCartney's early tracks. Her gender-swapped "And I Love Him" peaked in the Top 100's middle, and she came close to the R&B Top Ten with it. Also worthy of a listen is an uncommon but outstanding mid-'60s reggae rendition by a very young Wailers, then unheard beyond Jamaica.

Concluding, "And I Love Her" is the kind of track which will never turn old with time. With every passing year, it will only turn more beautiful. Check out this love song and grove to it's tune and subscribe us for more such music review.
